To Our Jewish Spartan Family and Supporters,
As we celebrate Chanukah, Jewish communities around the world are showing up with renewed strength. In the wake of painful events at Bondi Beach, we are reminded that our response to darkness is to shine even brighter, never to retreat.
We want to inform you of an incident that occurred at our Chabad House just after midnight on Tuesday morning. An individual intentionally threw a rock at the window of our student center. Thanks to reinforced glass, the window remains largely intact. No one was in the building at the time. We are working with the East Lansing Police Department and University Administration—the matter is under active investigation.
The window will be repaired, the menorah will be lit, and our door will remain open as we continue to be a true home away from home for Jewish Spartans: a place of warmth, safety, learning, celebration, and belonging.
As we move through our end-of-year campaign, our mission is unwavering: to shine light and be there for Jewish Spartans 24/7. That work continues every day, with joy and resolve.
